We could forget how to make our way home

I went to Old Manly Boatshed tonight to see Mark Sholtez. He is in different genres depending on the place you look. Blues, Jazz, Lyrical (???), Pop... this guy does everything. I really liked his music and was surprised that I have never heard his stuff before. I don't really like Jazz and was initially weary. Great live and lovely fellows to boot.

Mark Sholtez - 14/05

$20 to get in, which I think is quite resonable. Got a little rowdy towards the end of his set too, much yelling and loud talking. I sound like an old women. I just prefer to be able to hear the music rather then the chatting from young punks (and not so young punks). He also did a cover of 'Sweet Child o' Mine' complete with Axel's snake dance.

Ellie was havin a chat to Mark whilst I got to fulfill my roadie dreams and mind the gear for Bruce (other guitarist). Segue. I have had a few strangers getting me to mind their shit while they go off and do things. It's a compliment to know I look trusting to mind your meal/bag/child(yes!)/guitar stuff but I don't know what I would do if some other person wanted to take your stuff - maybe I would be a little more protective over the child and guitar but I don't really care about your soft drink! It is also difficult when the owner stuffs about and takes longer to get back... do I stay and mind your crap like I said I would??? whats in it for me anyway? Didn't mind minding the guitars, felt like I was 'with the band'... cool factor increase.

I digress...

The gig was great. I will friend him on FB and he said there will be another tour around/after June when the new album comes out. You all should come along!!!! Maybe next time I will go a little closer to the city. Most people there were not there for the music and act accordingly which makes me shake my fist and turn into a grumbling old lady.

New single "We Could Get Lost" is also free on iTunes as single of the week, check it out. This song also appeals to my love of wandering.

I'll be brief

I have taken my laptop to uni to use the Internet. The dropouts and slow speed got the better of me.

Quick update - I am suppose to be the typical mature age student (failing at that though) and be quite studious and up to date with my studies.... I'll be brief.

Fri Night - Tony's birthday. Philadelphia Grand Jury at Oxford Arts Factory.
John Steel Singers were the 'warm-up' band (do they even get a 'warm-up band anymore, I never hear it...)
Awesome. Great Night I said it was going to be quick. Guess that just means I use more full stops.
My camera again shows its true colours and refuses to take a clear picture. Night goes on into the wee hours. I pike half way at approx 430AM. Which is kind of a normal night except I was going to have to work the next day. DA DAHHH!!! *spooky somewhat ominous music.

MC Bad Genius showin us what he's got - 16/04

Early hours and I have little money for a cab all the way home. I get out a bit early. Ends up being a 20 min walk. Took a photo of the crossing sign to tell you to look for cars hurtling towards you. I read it as look right as in look correct. I wonder if I look/perceive things correctly. Little deep for 430AM????

Thoughts??? - Technically 17/04. It was 430AM and I was a little rough on Sat.

Saw this picnic set in a window in Newtown. It was a shop window not just any window. No price. The shop didn't even look open. My parents got one of these for some reason, some event. In lime green. Nothing same safe food at room temperature at a BBQ like lime green does. I confiscated it and put it into the trusting caring hands of my sister. Who lovingly looks after it for me. Interior is the same. Except I don't have the flasks and only one lunch box and only one of the locks closes properly. It is old. Thought these would be worth a mint. Ebay has only had one history listing and it didn't even go for $20.

Picnic King - 18/04

Uni is back. Awww crap! Didn't do nearly as much as I wanted to, or even should have. We have lovely grounds here at Macquarie Uni. When I got the acceptance pack it even mentioned at length how lovely the grounds were. Didn't mention a thing about the lack of computers, piss poor excuse for a library search engine, high fees, low parking.... but the grounds *sound of birds chirping. Seriously, I do like it here. It's a good uni. I'm doing pretty good here even if my spelling and grammar is crap. Usually I have spellcheck to pick me up on it (I have still lost my Blogspot spellcheck).

anyhoo,

Some sort of smoke signal was being sent to me over the park. I couldn't decipher it as I was getting confused by where the fountain stops and the smoke starts. They do burning off over there. Over there being the National Park place, which one... dunno. Get back to me. That's your homework.

Look at the grounds... - 19/04

I tried to be brief but I will always be a rambler
