Went to 'Aunty' Chris' for a birthday dinner. Very nice Hadn't had a roast in many a moon. Chris even had a birthday cake with eveyones name in a twill... is that what a chocolate twirl thingo is called?

CAKE - 18/08

Still feeling rough. Can.Not. Be. Bothered. Who makes up these stoopid slogans? Or how does someone source these slogans? What would you type into google? This was on a shop window in Leichhardt.

The French... pfffttt - 19/08

Day before the big election. I decided to get in early and vote the day before... a few hours before uni. Not too much of a line up. Much flirting going on in the Marrickville polling booth. Sheesh.

My say - 20/08

Could not toss up between what the best thing of the day was. My vote or Basement Birds? Fantastic gig. I licked the banter between each other. Have always had a bit of a thing for Kev too.

I went to Canberra on a whim on Sat morning. It was election day and we were in Canberra so we went to The National Tally Room. Highlights included listening to this guy in his Twisties jumper and beer in hand explain to two people, who couldn't really speak English, the differences between an Australian election and an Indian one???

AUSSIE! AUSSIE! AUSSIE! - 21/08

Three museums in one day. That's a lot of learning. First up was National Museum of Australia. Then Questacon with a final trip to The Mint. It has been years since I was at Questacon so they may have been the highlight. I really liked this photo of the sculpture out the front of National Museum.

Smooth - 22/08

It was a slow. Day. Super busy with my getting back late from Canb then work and uni. I food this poster in the bathrooms at Uni. Just a bit odd. I wonder if they have the same type in the guys?

Yes and No - 23/08

Determined to do more reading. Determined to have all my readings done well in advance.

Smarts - 24/08

First I will just stuff about with my camera.

Winter's cold is to much to handle

I was in Canberra Saturday night for the Groovin The Moo concert which was on Sunday. I was introduced to Chat Roulette and after many weirdos we 'met' this guy and his mate. Antonio from Spain, told him I would add him on FB am yet to do that.

Taking a photo of Antonio and I - 08/05

Groovin The Moo at University of Canberra was a chillsome affair. Started the day with Jonathan Boulet, third time and it feels like I'm stalking. They were a hit with the underage set (many orange wristbands) and the lay-deez did go a little wild when Jono danced and lifted his guitar. They had an extra drummer who I thought was in Sherlock's Daughter but can't confirm. Great set and was better received than the Surry Hills Festival set a few weeks ago.

Blondes not welcome it would seem - 09/05

The whole day was great. Got fairly pushy after Tegan and Sara for some reason??? I was going to miss Miami Horror because I don't really know their stuff but others wanted to see them and I had a tip that they were pretty good.

Concert was on a Sunday and there was an epic drive back to Sydney afterwards. Getting back late and having an early start on Mon meant that I didn't do anything really on Monday. This is some fabric that Nan gave me. I like it but think the print it to large for clothing, I think it will have to be a blanket. Have had it for 2 years and still can't cut into it.

Swans??? - 10/05

Completely unintentional... I decided to take a photo of all the cranes I have been making today. I cut my hand today at work. Dropped a cup and caught it as it smashed. That was waaayyy to boring to post. At least this is something I have been working on. It also gave me ideas for trying to take staged photos.

Paper Cranes - 11/05

Goes well with Nan's fabric. There are not that many I guess. I have them sitting on my stereo speaker and I fold some when I want a break from writing and studying. Thinking about your wish whilst making them and reaching 1000 apparently makes it come true. I don't think that works if the wish is 'do well at uni'.

weekends

Rainy start to the weekend in Sydney, was suppose to be rainy and stormy all weekend. To brighten the streets of inner west, the window washer at the intersection of Parramatta Rd and Johnston St Annandale decorated his 'office'. He has been doing it up of late, and getting dressed up himself.

Flowers and witch's hats - 05/03
Epic drive to Canberra on Friday, lots of traffic. Trip took a bit over 4 hours.
Sat morn we made Peach Upside Down cake. Mmmmm, check out the fantastic pattern of the peaches....
Cross-section to appreciate in all its glory - 06/03

Gallery was all booked out, went to Alice in Wonderland in 3D... Don't know how I felt about it. It was a film I was getting quite excited to see and now am feelin' a bit, meh. Doesn't feel like I watched it.
All Bar Nun for dinner and a few drinks, then onward for dancing and somewhere open.
Dancing in the street - 06/03

Sunday. Bit of a late start meant that we got to line up for the Paris exhibition at National Gallery of Australia. Massive lines, think it would have been a wait regardless of our arrival time.
Got to make use of the Portrait Galleries bathroom, shiny orange sculpture out the front.
Orange, shiny and bumpy - 07/03

Lines from Portrait Gallery into NGA - 07/03

The rains arrive, thankyou Canberra Times - 07/03
I had never seen a real life Impressionist painting so was quite the excited little rabbit. I got one of those audio tours, informative. It was really busy so am glad that the thought to pre-purchase was had.

Late Sunday and it was time to drive home. Decided, somewhat, to leave late and miss all the traffic. Alas, there was an accident around Goulburn. I don't like to just sit in the car, got a hot tip to got some back roads and hopefully avoid the traffic.
After about 15 mins, no sign postings, no phone reception and not a map in the car I began to get a little nervous. Whats the worse that could have happened really??? Arrived in Bungonia and found a map, we were on the right track.
Total travel time on way back, 4 hours. And an adventure was had.
