Got a dollar

Swamped with Uni related crap.

Have not been doing much else. Many of these photos are from around the Uni.

A different Uni pond - 25/10

Back to that pond (water catchment) from yesterdays photo. Hanging out with the bees and butterflies in the shrubbery. Again with throwing myself into danger. Came out unscathed.

Butterflies - 26/10

Scrappy dinner post. This time in canned form! Decided to mix things up by not having my usually spaghetti on toast. Went for a little underwater theme for tea. There is a starfish, seahorse, crab... the whole gang is there. Dinner should at least be fun if it isn't healthy.

 Friends for tea - 27/10

This guy was hanging about the campus car park eating sticks. Didn't ask me for any change.

Manicure - 28/10

Dr Kat was going to a fancy dress party as a highlighter and had heard of my awesome artistic skills with paint. I agreed to lend my services by painting her bright pink and spraying her hair.Felt like I was at the school fete. Ahhh, good times.

Pink hands - 29/10

And so ends another exciting week in the life of Aly.

Anything Less Than The Best Is a Felony

Over planned a smidgen. Just a little bit. Had planned (in previous photo) to make 40 cupcakes! Sleeping Babies and Hamburgers. Ended up just making the Sleeping Babies. Which were a H.I.T. I made them the night before to save a bit of time.

Small Cakes - 22/10
The recipe I had used to make the cupcakes fell short. Instead of the 24 it said it made I only ended up with 18. Probably a good idea anyway.

Baby stuff - 23/10

Ms Television had a fantastic time at her Baby Shower and got to take home some of my spare children. Fairly simple looking cupcakes. I saw the recipe over at JustJenn's blog. I read her blog regularly and she make fantastic food. It was the first place I went to went thinking of Baby Shower baked goods. Really happy with how they turned out. The small dummies were a find, from a party shop in Marrickville. The skin was difficult. I squirt red and a dribble of yellow - sorry can't be more specific.

 Sleepy Baby

At my bedroom window at the house I grew up in there was a Bottle Brush tree. Awesome. Bees love them! I am allergic to bees. I remember being nervous about this tree when I was younger because of the apparently devious nature of bees. I thought they would infiltrate my bedroom and attack me which would surely end in my death. A little dramatic??

When I was 12 I was first stung, my foot blew up to mammoth proportions. Instead of the Doc saying "You are allergic, be aware of them, carry this" etc. He pretty much told me that if I were to be stung around the neck my throat would expand which would close my airway and I would suffocate.... he may of said this while standing above me with a fog machine in the background. All in all I was shit scared of anything pollen related. No frolicking in fields for me as a young lass.

Pink Bottle Brush - 24/10

Then my Sis and I changed bedrooms so I got the room which had bees at the window a few months of the year. I was a nervous child. That was the first and only time I have been stung. That bee was not even alive! It was in the throes of death when I stepped on it. I could not of been that allergic. I never got one of those pens. I would get sting meds form the chemist... Sounds as pathetic as my car accident at 3kms where I sprained my toe.

So, after living so close to my nemisis' home base and watching them formulate their devious plans, I figured that I knew the Bottle Brush well. No! They also come in pink now. I still had a raised heart rate as I was taking these photos in the tree.

Where You Drink Champagne and It Tastes Just Like Cherry-Cola

This my 250th photo! *roaring cheers and much back slapping. Time to par-tay!

 Friends - 19/10

This is from the intersection that my friend the Window Washer Guy is usually at. He has been absent of late. Maybe finally kicked off. I particularly like the 'girl' in the middle with her rock hard pecs and abs. Naked people, flares, wedge heels, trans-gender folk. Crazy party.

The Wind Cries Mary

What's that? Been missing the dinner posts! Fear not. If I were to line up all my dinner posts I doubt I would be able to tell the difference. It's pretty much the same meal.

Same meal, slightly better photography - 13/10

I have short hair. Considering my hectic, mega busy lifestyle it is handy. Mile a minute is how my life is best described. I have a mega HUGE cowlick though. To combat this we (my hairdresser and I) decided to cut it shorter hoping it would do something that sounded good when I was slightly comatose in the chair after incredible lack of sleep. She also offered me a lollie (sugar) when I told how tired I was. After sucking on it she let me know it was in fact a prune lollie ?????? She must have seen my gagging face. Throughout the day all my efforts in taming the balcony go to waste. I could probably hide something under it.

It's hard taking a photo of the forehead - 14/10

Cloud Control gig was a gift from T. The gift was a ticket, not the show itself. Tried to not take many photos as I did want to enjoy it and The Metro has fairly shit lighting that I am yet to figure out how to photograph. Check them out if you can. Seekae were also there to get the crowds pumped. I was suitably enthused especially after their sampling of Super Mario Bros music.

Cloud Control - 15/10

Been a bit windy in Syd. People honestly loose their shit in this city when there is unseasonable weather. Admittedly 285km may be a bit of a reason to freak out. I was on the bus the other day when a slight smattering of rain started. Cue: people running straight into each other. Everyone look down and run there is water falling from the sky. Water falling from the sky, can you believe it???

Wind is hard to photograph - 16/10

Mary Mackillop became a Saint. I will readily admit my ignorance. I knew not much of this lady. I am not completely detached, I had heard her name bandied about. This was all to go down on Sunday. I finished work at 11 near North Sydney, her church is in North Sydney. The planets aligned and I knew I had to go. This point further hit home as Alexisonfire 'The Northern' came on my iPod as I rounded to corner and saw all the folk waiting to get their religion on.

It is not my intention to make light of this situation.

I had this idea as to what it would be like going to Mary's church. A place that she set up to help people, to educate people, to live and in the end she actually dies there. I did not think I would have to put up with people shoving and chanting protest slogans after having at a gate for 10 mins. They had to wait because Mass was still on. Hmmmm. Talked to a volunteer there by the name of Bette. She said she was a Joey's girl back in the day and left in '34. Odd to think Saint Mary had only just passed as Bette was coming to school age.

The museum there is informative and well put together. Learnt more about the Sister of Saint Joseph. After getting sick of the people I decided to hang about in the garden and listen to the singing. Took the plunge and actually took my camera off auto!

There was only two planting of the Mary Mackillop Rose in bloom. Apparently they only really come out in July.

The Rose -17/10

My Mum used to make me tha coolest lunches! I remember a few times when kids would look in my lunch box and exclaim that I did indeed have a great lunch. Yeah, I am awesome. Ma used to get obscure treat things and chuck them in. I swear we got these once. Because of Halloween all these top treats are coming out.

Ghostys - 18/10

I update on the book of face that there was a fog machine on sale at ALDI. Whoa, did people comment. I honestly did stand there for a moment debated the necessity of a fog machine. One litre of fog lasts for an hour. At $40 I think it is a bargain though.

How awesome am I that I was able to figure out a song that related to two parts of the post! Genius would not be an understatement

Losing my... inspiration????

I'm feeling kind of uninspired of late. Maybe it was because I had a mega month in September... Just finding it difficult to not only remember to take my daily photo but also to find something interesting to take photos of. Could also be because I can see the amount of traffic coming through but am still not getting any comments or feedback.

 My view - 10/10

That's the view from my bedroom window. Yeah, inspiring stuff!

Interesting bit of graffiti on Salisbury Rd near Syd Uni.

 Homeless need parking? - 11/10

Did go to trivia again. This time we came 4th! Yay us.

Beer, pizza and factoids - 12/10

This could be one of my more boring posts. I delayed posting because I knew it would not be one of my bests. Could be worse then all my dinner posts.

I figured that interest in my photos could be low and therefore may not get a great deal of comments. I decided to put these photos online so others (friends, family) could see them. I guess I never realised how personal it could be. I'm putting my life and the more interesting things that make up my day out there and by not getting much feedback I think I am becoming disinterested with the whole thing. Wondering if it worth the effort to putting it online.

Puddin' and Nelly

Met up with P for a mid week run. Neither of us had dinner supplies so we joined our coin and made a feast! Followed by some pudding and ice-cream. P made dinner while I prepared the puddings.

 Gooey gooey goodness - 06/10

Random, saw this on a back of a van. I remember seeing something like this somewhere. Perhaps Tropic Thunder....? Never thought it to be real. Pimpjuice supplies you with 100% of your daily Vit C!

Where's Nelly at now? - 07/10

Never had birthday drinks before. Organised birthday drinks where people turn up because of me. Had a fantastic night. Started off at Madame Fling Flong in Newtown and ended up at a friend of a friends birthday house party.

Cheers to my birthday festival - 08/10

Met up with some of the fam who were in town for Breakfast on the Bridge on Sunday morning. Had a bite to eat at Darling Harbour and then watched some fireworks.

Fireworks - 09/10

Lift My Head, I'm Still Yawning

Getting a bit slack again on the updates. Had a fairly lazy few days so not much of note to report on. Think I was pretty burnt out after the 30 days thing.

It rained in Sydney - 01/10

I slept most (pretty much all) of the day.

I have a ceiling. Need to buy a light shade - 02/10

It rained in Sydney a lot.

Tree starting to get full again - 03/10

Public Holiday! Woo Hoo! Went to lunch and then for a walk around Newtown after. We stopped over in St Stephens for a bit of a walk inside the graveyard. Lovely grounds. They have tours every Sunday for a small fee. Its one of Sydney's oldest churches, a few interesting stories to be heard.

A giant Morton Bay Fig is in the front of the grounds. Planted in 1848 with a current span of nearly 30 metres, it could rival The Oaks' Oak tree.

 Fig tree - 04/10

Back at Uni. Forgot to take a photo (yikes). I took this one on the Monday walk down at Carriageworks.

 Clearing skies - 05/10

Fairly uneventful. I did resume Uni. Apart from that I got nuthin'
